Please join us for a special presentation at ACVS in Phoenix on Friday, October 26th, from 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm, How Can We Work in Collaboration That Improves Patient Outcomes and the Success of Both the Primary Care and Specialty Veterinary Practices?
Veterinary Specialists Outreach & Awareness Project (VetSOAP) embarked upon a three-phase research project to demonstrate that, through collaborative care:
- Patients will live longer
- Patients will enjoy healthier outcomes/improved quality of life
- The primary care veterinary practice will experience a positive revenue benefit
- The relationship between primary care and specialty veterinarians will be enriched
Julie D. Smith, DVM, DACVS, CCRT, MBA, and Judith Gass, MBA, Executive Director of VetSOAP, will present initial findings from a quantitative study of primary care veterinarian referral behaviors and drivers. The discussion will include the data collection strategy to demonstrate the patient outcome and financial benefit of referral/collaborative care on primary care practices. VetSOAP intends to use the data to strengthen the primary care and specialty veterinarian relationships to improve overall patient care.
